DashLight AI — Privacy Policy

DashLight AI ("the app", "we") helps you identify car dashboard warning lights. This policy explains what data we handle and why.

What we process

When you scan a warning light, the photo you take or choose is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our backend, which forwards it to our AI provider (OpenAI) to identify the symbol and return an explanation. The image is used only to generate that result.

What we store

• On our servers: nothing persistent. Images are processed in memory to produce a result and are not retained or sold.
• On your device: scans you choose to save are stored locally on your iPhone only. Deleting the app removes them.
• Accounts: none. We do not ask for your name, email, or login.

Third parties

Images are processed by OpenAI to perform the analysis. Subscriptions and payments are handled entirely by Apple; we never receive your payment details.

Camera & photos

Camera and photo-library access are used solely to capture or select the dashboard image you want analyzed. Access is requested only when you use those features.

Children

The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Not a substitute for professional advice

DashLight AI provides general guidance and can be wrong. It is not a substitute for inspection by a qualified mechanic.
